World class Premiere of Rolex FEI World Cup™ at Mercedes-CSI

“This year’s Mercedes-CSI documented a historical experience”, Co-President Rolf Theiler addressed the 1st performance of Rolex FEI World Cup™ to be. He points out the different aspects of the event. “On Saturday we experienced a unique and phenomenal atmosphere.” From Jan 22nd to Jan 25th 2009, 43,300 spectators watched exceptional sport and the best participants ever. Mr. Theiler mentioned the multifaceted program of the highest awarded indoor show jumping tournament in the world, appealing to the spectators and giving the organizers the assurance that they are still applying the correct approach to success after 21 years.

The sport focus of the event had been the premiere of the Rolex FEI World Cup™.

Jessica Kurten won the Mercedes Classic - Rolex FEI World Cup™. Mikael Forsten (FIN) riding Isaac du Jonquet took 2nd place and Marcus Ehning (GER) was ranked 3rd, riding Plot Blue. The up-and-coming female rider from Tessin, Clarissa Crotta was rated best Swiss rider taking 5thplace on Westside van Meerputhoeve.

reating the balance, more Swiss riders scored well. Two were placed 2nd, one in the Rolex Grand Prix by Manfred Mueller, and the other by Christina Liebherr in the Mercedes Swiss Master.

This year, more highlights at Mercedes-CSI were also created by the Swiss Young Riders.

Following Julien Epaillard (FR), Alexandra Fricker was placed 2nd, and Deborah Lazzarotto 3rd.

This year’s entertainment show, showcasing the relation between man and horse, proved immensely popular." The Rolex FEI World Cup™ granted Mercedes-CSI the achievement of worldwide medial interest. This event was broadcast in 20 countries, throughout the world.
