History 2010

From four to three: The new Mercedes-CSI

For the first time since its inception, MCSI will run for only three days instead of four, as in the past. The mentioned scepticism around this proved to be unfounded as the curtailment of the program proved immensely popular with organisers, athletes as well as sponsors. The CSI community moved closer together, not only figuratively speaking: To conclude the sport events, the entrance area of the hallenstadion gets converted into a party zone. Amongst luxurious cars, bars, and betting terminals, horse enthusiasts dance & celebrate with the stars of the scene at the aftershow party.

Amongst them, Steve Guerdat, whose dry charm attracted the female fans.

With Tresor, Steve won the fascinating Mercedes Classic. Lars Nieberg (GER) was 2nd., and Svante Johansson (SWE) took 3rd place.

At this, the 22nd MCSI, Pius Schwizer was undoubtedly the most popular.

Last year he experienced mixed feelings, as one week before starting in Zurich, his house in Oensingen burnt down, but then at CSI, Pius ignited his own line of fireworks! He won 3 challenges to receive first place in the World ranking list.

Pius is the 3rd Swiss rider to retain the no.1 position after Willi Melliger & Markus Fuchs.
